Artists are rising to the top with new music. Troopers have acknowledged these and have a lot to say about the artists dropping albums and making their way to the top of the charts.
Throughout the Summer of 2017, artists such as Katy Perry, Kesha, 2 Chainz, Calvin Harris, Lana Del Rey, Lil Uzi Vert and others excited their fans with new albums and songs.
Albums; "Tell Me You Love Me" by Demi Lovato was released on Sept. 29 and so was "Younger Now" by Miley Cyrus, who has made a youthful, more spirited comeback to her genre. Early 2000's artist, The-Dream, has also released a new album. Dolly Parton has made appearances in both Kesha's and Miley Cyrus' album. She also made her own album called,"I Believe In You."
Senior Nawaf Muhsin said he enjoys Miley Cyrus' style because she doesn't take in the negativity that others throw at her.
"I've liked Miley Cyrus since I was younger because of her T.V. show, 'Hannah Montana'," Muhsin said. "She is able to express herself with a huge platform and she doesn't care what people think about her."
Muhsin also acknowledged how talented and stable she is along with his favorite song from her new album Younger Now.
"I like 'Week Without You' because no matter what, she's always strong and she doesn't depend on anybody," Muhsin said. "I was watching an interview and found out she wrote 'Malibu' in an Uber on her way to 'The Voice'."
Muhsin believes that Cyrus has a lot of potential as an artist.
"This shows how creative and talented she is," Muhsin said. "If she can write this #1 hit single in an Uber, she's able to do a lot."
Artist Post Malone recently released a new song called 'Rockstar' and has received a lot of attention for it.
Senior Garrett Calderon said in this song Malone creates good vibes and sends out messages about being safe.
"I like 'Rockstar' because it brings up having a good time and just to be smart about the choices we make," Calderon said. "What really caught me from Post Malone was his song 'White Iverson' and then I heard 'Congratulations,' which is my favorite song."
Earlier this year year, Artist Logic released a song called '1-800-273-8255', which is the Suicide Prevention Hotline number, featuring Khalid and Alessia Cara. This song created much controversy because of the topic of suicide. The music video also impacted many fans because of its strong message. After all its attention, the three artists were invited to perform this at the 2017 Video Music Awards.
Calderon said the song might encourage others to seek help instead of keeping it to themselves is such situations.
"I think it's a good song and it basically tells people to speak up if they ever feel the need to do something like that, other than keeping the feelings inside," Calderon said."It brings out positive emotions saying if you think nobody cares about you, there's somebody who does so just speak out to them."
Rapper Lil Pump also dropped his newest album along with YouTube sensation, Poppy, Marilyn Manson. Gwen Stefani's Christmas album was released on Oct. 6. P!nk's upcoming album is going to be released on Oct. 13, and Kelly Clarkson's album 'Meaning of Life' is coming to stores on Oct. 27.
