Gymnastics team prevails in meet Bel Air meet

The Eastwood Gymnastics team competed in a compulsory meet last Friday at Bel Air High School.

The lady Troopers placed 2nd overall out of 3 teams. Junior Dianeliz Tirado placed first on vault, uneven bars, beam, and floor. Tirado also placed first overall.

The boys placed first as a team. Senior Brian Bishop placed third on the floor exercise. On pommel horse, sophomore Alec Lozano placed third and Bishop placed second. Bishop placed first on rings, vault, and parallel bars; and sophomore Brandon Berry placed second on vault. Lozano placed second on high bar.

Senior Alexander Cervantes says the season is "going good, there's a lot more we can improve in as a whole team. If we keep working like our coach wants us to then we can reach our goals."

The team placed 2nd in the entire competition. The Troopers next meet is February 6 at Hanks High School.
