The Eastwood Boys' and Girls' Swimming team competed on Friday at Cowan Pool.
The boys' team took yet another victory, coming in first following their win from the previous meet at the SAC. With the beginning of another season, many of the swimmers came in with new goals of becoming stronger and many seniors are confident to say they've been working hard these past years.
Despite their winning streak, the male swimmers still make room for improvement. "We have so many strong swimmers on the guys' side," said boys' captain senior Ian Murphy. "Our only weakness at this point is the lack of butterflyers. Many of the guys are dominant at distance and breaststroke, but there is only maybe one or two that are good at butterfly," Murphy also said. They continue to work vigorously to maintain their high ranking title.
Meanwhile the girls' team continues to work hard to redeem themselves from their loss this past meet.
The girls' team has had to deal with a few barriers this season. Although they have their strong points, the team has stiff competition at freestyle swimming."We have really strong competition this year and its been a challenge to keep up with the loss of some strong freestyle swimmers who graduated this past year," said girls' captain senior Christina Roman.
Luckily for the girls, this is only the start of the season, thus giving them more time for improvement. "All we have to do is keep a positive attitude and get past our weaknesses. We do have a good team this year and we just need to keep training and practicing to reach our full potential by the end of the season," said girls' captain senior Claire O' Beirne.
Both teams keep an ambitious attitude to reach the victorious season they hope for.
The Troopers will show what they've been working on at the meet this Friday and Saturday at the Armijo Center.
